Penn State Hoops Guard Jahvin Carter Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State men’s basketball freshman guard Jahvin Carter will enter the transfer portal, he announced Wednesday. Carter is the first Nittany Lion to hit the portal this offseason.

Carter was one of the few freshmen to get playing time this past season. He played in 26 games, totaling 215 minutes, and scored 2.1 points per game, shooting 32.8% from the field and 32.4% from three. However, Carter struggled from the free throw line, making just three of 11 attempts.

Carter was a three-star prospect in the recruiting class of 2024. He was the No. 44-ranked combo guard and the No. 292 player nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Carter will officially enter the transfer portal when it opens for men’s basketball on Monday, March 24.
