Report: Penn State Wrestling’s Alex Facundo & Gary Steen Enter Transfer Portal

Penn State wrestling’s Alex Facundo and Gary Steen entered the transfer portal, per Justin Basch. The announcement came just after the end of the first session of the NCAA Championships.

Neither Facundo nor Steen saw much mat time in the 2024-25 season, with Facundo seemingly being beaten out by No. 1 Tyler Kasak for the starting spot at 157 pounds and Steen sitting behind the likes of No. 1 Luke Lilledahl and No. 8 Braeden Davis in the lighter weights.

A junior, Steen was a combined 15-21 in his time at Penn State, while Facundo, a sophomore, went 19-6 as a freshman and then 5-0 this season, taking time off last season for an Olympic redshirt.
