Sportsbooks Flag Penn State Wrestling As Runaway Favorites At NCAA Championships

Spare change, anyone?

With four No. 1 seeds and no wrestler ranked outside of the top eight, Penn State wrestling is again entering the national stage as an overwhelming favorite on the mat and on the books.

DraftKings has set Penn State as a -6000 favorite to win the NCAA team title, meaning that a $10 bet on the Nittany Lions will net you a profit of a whopping $0.17. The sports book has also staked three separate bets for those not wanting to bet on the Nittany Lions including, teams to place in the top three, top five, and “winner without Penn State.”

DraftKings has also released weight-class-specific bets for outright winners across all 10 brackets. Penn State’s representatives sit at the following odds:

  • 174 Pounds – No. 2 Levi Haines, +150
  • 184 Pounds – No. 1 Carter Starocci, -200 (Favorite)
  • 197 Pounds – No. 4 Josh Barr, +700
  • 285 Pounds – No. 3 Greg Kerkvliet, +425

The NCAA Championships will take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The first session is set to begin at noon on Thursday, March 20.
