Report: Former Penn State Football Defensive Back Nick Scott Re-Signs With Carolina Panthers

Former Penn State football defensive back Nick Scott reportedly re-signed with the Carolina Panthers on a one-year deal, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter.

Scott played his entire collegiate career with Penn State from 2014 to 2018, appearing in 52 games overall. He notched 60 solo tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, and three interceptions in his time as a Nittany Lion.

Scott was then drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Scott played four seasons with the Rams, tabbing 158 total tackles, two forced fumbles, and four interceptions. He won Super Bowl LVI in his third year in Los Angeles.

The former Nittany Lion then spent the 2023 season with the Cincinnati Bengals and the 2024 season with the Carolina Panthers as his role expanded to special teams specialties. Scott only appeared in 10 games for the Panthers in 2024 as he battled a hamstring injury after appearing in 15-plus games in each of his previous seasons.
