Local Artist Emily Cooper Organizes Downtown Window Egg Hunt

Things are about to get egg-citing, folks!
Local artist Emily Cooper creates window paintings and murals for downtown businesses and is giving back to the community with a free and fun activity for everyone to participate in.
The owner of Faces & Spaces Artistry, Cooper is hosting a window egg hunt in downtown State College from April 1 through April 30, she announced on Facebook. Eggs will be painted on the windows of 55 different downtown businesses, and folks will have to search for the eggs for a chance to win prizes.
Folks who are interested in participating must search for and take photos of each egg they find and post them on social media. They have to tag the business where each egg was located, Faces & Spaces Artistry, and downtown State College. Photos must be shared on social media through an actual post and not on a story.
Participants who post 10 eggs and tag the correct profiles will have a chance to win a $10 Dunkin gift card and a $25 downtown gift card. Folks who post 25 eggs can be entered to win a grand prize valued at $500, consisting of an assortment of gift cards and merchandise from downtown businesses. There will be a total of six winners with three winners from each category.
For some extra festivity, folks can stop by the Downtown Improvement District office to grab a bunny ear headband to wear during their hunt. Two-hour parking validations for any of the garages are also available for pickup, according to the Facebook post.
Each egg displayed on the windows is hand painted by Cooper and seven of her friends: Damian Cabrera of the Downtown Improvement District, Christine Kurpiel Wakamiya, a developmental teacher for CIU 10, Sarah Zappe of Kaleidoscope, Pennsylvania, Jenny Darling, a success coach at Commonwealth Charter Academy, Mary Beers of Mary Beers Art, Ambrose Lewis of Uncle Eli’s, and Scott McKenzie of Scotch Pours.
Cooper said she wanted to organize this activity as a thank you to the community and to boost her business via social media.
“My business has only succeeded the way that it has because of this community supporting me. I wanted to do a project where I can facilitate an engaging activity where everyone benefits,” Cooper said. “I am so hopeful that people connect and find joy through this.”
The winners of the window egg hunt will be contacted in early May through social media to claim their prize.
