[Photo Story] Penn State Women’s Gymnastics Takes On NCAA Regionals

Last week, the Penn State women’s gymnastics team competed in the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Regionals, hosted at Rec Hall. The tournament showcased the top teams in the country battling for a spot in the national championship.
Despite several standout performances, including impressive vault and floor routines, Penn State faced tough competition from the other teams. The Nittany Lions fell short of advancing to the next round, ending their season.
Let’s take a look at how it all went down.






The Nittany Lions started the competition off on the beam with strong performances, earning a team score of 49.150.


Up next, Penn State delivered an impressive floor performance, earning a team score of 49.150. Six team members competed on floor, with Kalea McElligott receiving the highest score of 9.875.






For their third rotation, the Nittany Lions took on vault. The team ended up with a score of 48.950, with Elizabeth Leary receiving the team’s highest score of 9.85.

Last but certainly not least was the bars. The girls gave it their all and ended up with a team score of 48.975, with the highest scorers going to Leary and Gabbie Gallentine.





The team went all out to end its season with a score of 196.225 but fell short of advancing to the NCAA women’s gymnastics championship.
