VHS Skateshop Relocates To East Calder Way

VHS Skateshop, previously on the corner of Pugh Street and Calder Way, moved to 244 E. Calder Way, previously owned by Oliv, at the end of March. The store now sits between Way Fruit Farm and Town Pride, a clothing store that recently opened.

VHS Skateshop owner Clint Kunselman originally opened the store in DuBois, Pennsylvania, before moving to State College four years ago after hearing about the possibility of a skate park opening nearby. The skate shop offers skateboards, shoes, clothing, and accessories.

“It’s more visible now,” Kunselman said. “The hope is it brings in more people… It’s been nice meeting the next-door businesses.”

The new location features a screening room in the back, where customers can watch movies, play video games, and kill time while shopping. Kunselman also plans to host events at the potential skate park, which is expected to be built this fall.

VHS is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
