Penn State Football Offensive Lineman JB Nelson No Longer On Roster

Penn State football offensive lineman JB Nelson is no longer listed on the program’s roster as of Friday morning. The apparent departure from the programs comes a few months after Nelson announced his intention to return in January via social media. That post has since been deleted.

Nelson is currently in his final year of eligibility after spending his first two seasons at Lackawanna Community College at the JUCO level and three seasons at Penn State. When Nelson committed to the Nittany Lions in 2022, he was listed as a four-star offensive tackle and ranked as the No. 1 player from Pennsylvania, the No. 1 offensive tackle, and the No. 2 player in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite JUCO rankings.

While at Penn State, Nelson appeared in 31 games, starting eight, mostly at guard. In the 2024-25 season, he appeared in all 16 games but made no starts.

The transfer portal officially opens on Wednesday, April 16, and will remain open until Friday, April 25.
