State College Police Take Milroy Man Into Custody For Terroristic Threats

A Milroy man was taken into custody for terroristic threats against State College Area High School.

Braeden Phillips, 20, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and unlawful possession of a firearm, the State College Police Department announced in a release Saturday.

State College Police were made aware of a plot to attack State College Area High School at a later date in April, according to the release. Police investigated the accusations after a report by a concerned citizen and determined that there was a legitimate threat. A search warrant was executed on Phillips’ residence, and he is now being held at the Centre County Correctional Facility without bail.

The investigation is still ongoing to “ascertain any potential involvement of other individuals,” per the release.

State College Police were assisted by the State College Area School District, the Centre County District Attorney’s Office, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

State College Police are urging anyone who may have more information regarding the incident to contact the State College Police Department at (814)-234-7150, by email, or through an anonymous tip.
