Omaha Goaltender Kevin Reidler Transfers To Penn State Men’s Hockey

In the wake of losing star goaltender Arsenii Sergeev to the NHL, Penn State hockey landed the commitment of former Omaha netminder Kevin Reidler on Monday, Reidler announced.
Reidler entered the transfer portal shortly after Omaha was eliminated in the NCHC Tournament, ending its season. Reidler was a fifth-round draft pick of the Ottawa Senators in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
The rising sophomore went 4-1-0 with a .920 save percentage and a 2.74 GAA in eight games, serving as the backup to Simon Latkoczy. Prior to beginning his college career, Reidler went 27-5-2 with a .902 SV% and 2.86 GAA with the USHL’s Dubuque Fighting Saints.
Reidler joins a young and inexperienced goalie room with ample opportunity to succeed Sergeev next October. John Seifarth and Noah Grannan, both entering their senior years, are options, as well as incoming freshman Josh Fleming, who spent the last two years in the QMJHL.
