Zeta Psi Fraternity Set For Fall 2025 Return To Penn State

The Zeta Psi fraternity has officially been rechartered at Penn State earlier this spring, according to an email sent to fraternity alumni.

The rechartering comes after, in 2018, the Pi Sigma chapter was suspended through spring 2022 due to hazing violations, which led to the revocation of its charter by the national Zeta Psi organization.

Zeta Psi quietly began its return in fall 2023, as noted on its Instagram page, which lists that semester as the start of its re-establishment. Since then, the chapter has focused heavily on recruitment and rush, working to gain new members aligned with the fraternity’s core values and vision for the future.

Its Instagram presence reflects this forward momentum, with a pinned post from February 2025 featuring a photo of its historic house on Foster Avenue, captioned: “Home Sweet Home. Coming Fall 2025.”

The house, a part of the chapter’s legacy at Penn State, remains owned by Zeta Psi but is leased to Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity. Zeta Psi is scheduled to return to the residence in fall 2025 after the lease ends.
