State College Listed As Team Base Camp Site For 2026 FIFA World Cup

How do you say “We Are” in Dutch?

State College was added to the list of official team base camp options for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the organization announced Wednesday.

Teams can train at Jeffrey Field, the home of Penn State men’s and women’s soccer, and stay at the Penn Stater Hotel. Jeffrey Field’s renovations are set to be complete in early 2026, which means World Cup teams should be able to use the new locker rooms, training facilities, and bubble practice field.

The 2026 World Cup is scheduled to run from Thursday, June 11, through Sunday, July 19. Philadelphia, the host city closest to State College, will host matches on June 14, June 19, June 22, June 25, June 27, and July 4.

Groups have yet to be drawn for the World Cup, so folks will have to wait to see if their favorite countries, most likely those competing in groups C, E, I, and L, will train in Happy Valley.
