Summer 2025 Student Parking Registration To Open May 5

As Penn State students begin making plans for summer classes, internships, and weekend getaways, the university announced student parking registration for summer 2025 will open at noon on Monday, May 5.

Whether you’re sticking around for classes, living in State College, or need a spot to leave your car during the break, students can register for a summer parking permit.

All students — regardless of class standing — are eligible to register, including graduate students who are not enrolled in summer classes. Parking permits will be available exclusively online through the Transportation Services website. Rates will be prorated weekly, with current pricing visible at checkout.

Student Permit Options

Parking availability will depend on where students are living this summer. Here’s the breakdown:

  • On-Campus Residents:
    • Lot 11 (White Course Apartments)
    • Lot 82
    • Lot 83
    • WDS (West Deck)
  • Off-Campus Residents:
    • SCR (Student Commuter Lot)
    • Lot 83 (overnight storage)
    • YAS (West Deck – overnight storage)

If you’re planning to leave your car on campus while you’re away for an extended period, make sure someone you trust, who’s staying in town, has your car keys in case your vehicle needs to be moved.

Registration Requirements

Before registering, students will need the following:

  • An active Penn State ID and Access account
  • Enrollment in summer courses
  • License plate information (cars must be owned by the student or an immediate family member)

Students are reminded that permits are now virtual and tied directly to your license plate — no more physical tags hanging from your mirror.

Transportation Services also urges students not to double-click or use the back button during registration, as it may lead to transaction issues. If you run into problems, exit the site and contact the office directly.

Special Permit Info

  • Students needing ADA parking accommodations must first register for a general permit and then contact the Transportation Services Office with appropriate documentation.
  • Short-term permits (valid weekly) must be obtained in person at the office and are limited in availability.

For help or more information, students can reach out to [email protected] or call 814-865-1436. You can also follow Transportation Services on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter for the latest updates.
