Penn State Men’s Hockey To Begin 2025-26 Season At Arizona State

Less than a month after their miraculous run to the Frozen Four ended in St. Louis, Penn State men’s hockey has learned where it will begin the 2025-26 season.

Penn State will open next season on the road, visiting the NCHC’s Arizona State for a two-game set in Tempe starting on October 3, 2025, as revealed on Monday.

The Sun Devils were one of the first teams out of the NCAA Tournament in 2024-25, finishing 21-14-2 and ending the season ranked at No. 16, reaching as high as No. 10 in February. Their Pairwise ranking left them as the second team out of the field, just behind Michigan and the last at-large team into the tournament, Penn State.

The two programs have faced off in four separate series in the past, but none since 2020. In the all-time series, Penn State is 7-1-0, with their lone loss coming in overtime at Pegula Ice Arena in 2018. The Nittany Lions swept the most recent series in December 2020, winning both games at home in overtime.

The remainder of the Penn State hockey schedule should be revealed in the coming weeks and months.
