Penn State Men’s Volleyball Moves Up To No. 20 In Latest AVCA Poll

Penn State men’s volleyball is officially back in the rankings as it moved up to No. 20 in the latest AVCA Poll, released Monday afternoon.

This comes after the Nittany Lions swept No. 19 Princeton in the EIVA championship to win their third consecutive EIVA title. They swept all their opponents en route to clinching a spot in the NCAA Tournament. It was the first time that Penn State was officially ranked since mid-March, when it was ranked No. 19.

Despite ending the regular season with a losing record for the first time in the Mark Pavlik era, the Nittany Lions received 31 votes in the latest poll. However, its EIVA rival, Princeton, is ranked ahead of Penn State at No. 19, despite not clinching a spot in the NCAA Tournament after being swept in the EIVA championship game.

Penn State will look to keep its momentum from winning the EIVA tournament as it faces Daemen in the first round of the tournament at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 2, at Daemen’s campus in Amherst, New York. The match can be streamed on ESPN+, and the winner will play No. 2 seed Hawaii.
