Some Penn State Student Visas Reactivated

Some Penn State student visas have been reactivated after the Trump administration revoked many of them, Penn State confirmed in a statement. The university did not disclose how many visas had been reactivated.
“The University is aware that the government has started reactivating the SEVIS status of some students whose status had previously been terminated,” the university said in a statement. “Penn State Global’s International Student and Scholar Advising is closely monitoring SEVIS and has been in contact with those Penn State students whose status has been reactivated.”
The SEVIS program, which stands for Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, tracks immigrant students in the United States.
The Centre County district attorney said 22 student visas had been revoked, and the moves had come as part of a nationwide crackdown on immigration by the Trump administration. The students who lost visas drew support from school and local leaders.
