Penn State Hoops’ 2025-26 Big Ten Opponents Released

Penn State will be back sooner rather than later, folks.

Penn State men’s basketball released its Big Ten opponents on Tuesday. The Nittany Lions are set to face 17 in-conference opponents once again.

One year after USC, Oregon, UCLA, and Washington joined the Big Ten, Penn State will face these foes once again after going winless against these teams. This year, the Nittany Lions will get to host the Trojans and the Bruins after having to go on the road against them last year.

Penn State is set to host Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Wisconsin, UCLA, and USC at home and will hit the road to face Indiana, Maryland, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue, Washington, and Oregon. The Nittany Lions will face Michigan, Ohio State, and Rutgers both home and away. This will be the second consecutive year that they will face the Scarlet Knights both home and away.

Last season, the Nittany Lions finished 16-15, which was the first time they finished with a winning record in the Mike Rhoades era. However, they finished 6-14 in the Big Ten, which placed them second-to-last behind Washington. Due to that, Penn State did not qualify for the Big Ten tournament.

Penn State’s 2024-25 schedule is yet to be announced, but it is reportedly set to play Providence in November in Connecticut.
