Baby Tate Brings Out ‘Play Girl’ Energy To The IM Fields

American rapper Tate Farris, better known as Baby Tate, took her talents to the IM Fields as Movin’ On 2025’s third act of the festival.
Tate, known for her viral single “I Am,” featuring Flo Milli, and her EP “After the Rain,” kept the crowd of Penn State students lively and entertained, as the sun peeked through the clouds throughout her set.
The pansexual rapper, who uses her music to express herself and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, stepped at 6:15 p.m., ready to show Movin’ On a good time. Tate opened with hit songs “I Am” and “What’s Love,” hyping up the crowd for her set.

The rapper followed with “Play Girl” and “Jersey,” bringing more and more energy with each song, before introducing herself to the Movin’ On crowd.
“Penn State, what’s up? I’m so nasty, I’m so rude. I just realized I didn’t even introduce myself,” Tate said to the crowd.
Tate then led into her next song of the night, “Rainbow Cadillac,” getting the sea of students to bounce and cheer throughout the performance.
Her set continued with “Differences,” prompting her to shout, “Look at you,” to the crowd as it echoed back, “Look at me.”
Directly after her seemingly last song, Tate thanked the crowd as she exited the stage. Then, her DJ Sky Jetta started a “Baby Tate” chant as the crowd chanted her name. Tate returned to the stage, asking the crowd, “You really thought I was leaving?”

Preceding arguably the most anticipated song of the night, Tate performed “Pedi” before asking the crowd, “If you’re feeling really good and sexy right now, like right in between, can I get a oh Mickey you’re so fine?”
Tate then performed her most well-known song, “Hey Mickey!,” which went viral on TikTok, amping the crowd up even more. Shortly after, she sang “Luv Everybody,” followed by telling the crowd, “If you couldn’t tell from that song, I’m pansexual.”
The rapper continued with “Straight,” ending the song with a riff that had the crowd going wild before she performed “Sl*t Him Out” and “Grip.”
“This has been so much fucking fun… I’m so sad that it’s over,” Tate shouted to the crowd.
Before closing out her set, Tate asked the crowd to give her their wigs, leading into her final song of the night, “Wig.” Throughout the song, crowd members continued to chant Tate’s lyrics and continued to cheer as she exited the stage.
