Former Penn State Baseball Pitcher David Lee To Join Colorado Rockies System

Former Penn State baseball player David Lee has signed a contract with the Colorado Rockies to join the team’s minor league system.

Lee pitched for the Nittany Lions in 2024 as a reliever, earning three saves in 24 and 2/3 innings on the mound. He spent the first four years of his career at California University of Pennsylvania.

In his 23 appearances for Penn State, Lee let up 32 hits and 23 earned runs as a key member of the pitching staff during Mike Gambino’s first year as head coach.

Following his collegiate career, Lee remained in Happy Valley to pitch for the State College Spikes last summer, and had a 1.93 ERA in 14 innings pitched.

The Rockies’ farm system has seven minor league affiliates, with four on the West Coast, two in the Dominican Republic, and one in Connecticut.
