Penn State Men’s Hockey Defenseman Jason Gallucci Transfers To Canisus

Former Penn State men’s hockey defenseman Jason Gallucci has found a new home after entering the transfer portal following the 2024-25 season.

A freshman while with the Nittany Lions, Gallucci will head north to play at Canisius, the team announced. Gallucci spent his first year of eligibility at Penn State.

Gallucci did not play a game during the 2024-25 season. The Nittany Lions had a historic run making it to the Frozen Four for the first time in program history. A second-half-of-the-season comeback led Penn State to the Allentown Regionals. They defeated Maine and UConn to punch their way to St. Louis. before losing to Boston University in the Frozen Four.

Gallucci played for the Green Bay Gamblers during the 2023-24 season in the USHL. He registered 11 points throughout the season. Before the USHL, he was in the BCHL with the Coquitlam Express where he was the leading scorer from the blueline.

The Robbinsville, New Jersey native will join a Canisius team in addition to three more transfers, the team announced. The Griffins are coming off a 12-23-2 season in 2024-25.
