[Photo Story] Penn State Men’s Lacrosse’s Trip To The NCAA Final Four

Penn State men’s lacrosse made it back to the NCAA final four for the first time since their 16-15 overtime loss to Duke in 2023. Although they lost 11-9, it was a well fought game throughout.

Of course, our photographers were there to capture the tough game.

The team took to the field for warmups ahead of the game.

The Nittany Lions and the Big Red traded possessions for the majority of the first quarter with Cornell finding the goal with only nine seconds left of the quarter.

Penn State wasted no time joining the scoreboard in the second quarter, adding their goal after 46 seconds.

The two teams continued to trade goals throughout the second quarter and into the third. The Nittany Lions even adding a bit of flare with two behind-the-back goals.

The Big Red kept their multi-goal lead going into their fourth and final quarter of the game. There was a sliver of hope in the eyes of the Nittany Lions, though, as they came back to put three balls in the back of the net to reduce Cornell’s lead by only one goal with a little more than nine minutes left.

Sadly, with a little less than six minutes remaining, the Big Red extended their lead 11-9 and the Nittany Lions were unable to respond. With the clock ticking down, the Nittany Lions’ well-fought NCAA tournament appearance came to a close.
