Penn State Baseball Lands Three On ABCA All-Region Teams

The accolades for Penn State baseball didn’t stop with the Big Ten. Following its most wins in a season since 2000, three players were named to the ABCA All-Region Teams for the East Region on Tuesday.
Junior outfielder Paxton Kling added to his long list of accolades with this honor, having already been named to the All-Big Ten First Team, Defensive Team, and All-Tournament Team. The LSU transfer slashed .358/.470/.632 with 13 home runs, 30 extra base hits, 54 RBI, and 15 stolen bases in 56 games.
Sophomore designated hitter Jack Porter was also named to the second team. Before a season-ending hand injury in May, Porter slashed .310/.408/.549 with 10 home runs, 24 extra base hits, and 38 RBI in 47 games.
Junior pitcher Ryan DeSanto was the lone pitcher honored, also named to the second team. The St. Joseph’s transfer immediately stepped up as the team’s ace, starting 15 games and going 8-2 with a 3.96 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 72 strikeouts in 72.2 innings.
