First Basemen Michael Anderson Transfers To Penn State Baseball

Former Arkansas baseball star Michael Anderson has committed to Penn State baseball out of the transfer portal, he announced on Tuesday night.
As a high school prospect, Anderson was ranked by Perfect Game as a top 500 overall prospect, the No. 83 first baseman, and the No. 72 prospect in Rhode Island in the class of 2022. The junior is native to Havertown, Pennsylvania, but played for Monsignor Bonner in Rhode Island throughout high school.
Anderson joined the Razorbacks in 2024 after playing two seasons with Rhode Island to start his collegiate career. He played in just four games with Arkansas, this season with only eight at-bats and no recorded hits.
In his sophomore season with the Rams, the infielder played 47 games with 45 starts and slashed .252/.411/.574 with 13 home runs. On the defensive end, he had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 239 total chances.
During a game against Stonehill, Anderson set the NCAA Division I single-game high with 12 RBI. He also set the Rhode Island single-game run record in a game against George Washington, although he was hit by a pitch four times in that contest.
