Former Penn State Football Star Micah Parsons Request Trade From Cowboys

Former Penn State football linebacker Micah Parsons officially requested a trade from the Dallas Cowboys. He posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday.
Parsons released the statement above after weeks of back and forth with the organization over a contract extension.
“After repeated shots at myself and all the narratives, I have made the tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys,” Parsons said in his statement.
The edge rusher has been with Dallas for all four years he has been in the NFL, putting up ridiculous numbers. Besides being one of two players ever to register 12 or more sacks in their first four seasons, Parsons has also made four Pro Bowls, won the defensive rookie of the year, and made All-Pro three times.
While superstars such as Parsons aren’t traded often, a comparison to look at is the Khalil Mack trade from Oakland to the Bears. Chicago gave up two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and a sixth-round pick for Mack, a second-round pick, and a conditional fifth-round pick. Mack was 27 when this deal happened, and Parsons is 26.
It is also important to note, per Dianna Russini, an NFL insider, Dallas has no intention of dealing the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, native this season.
Parsons played two seasons with the Nittany Lions in 2018 and 2019. In those two years, he had 192 tackles, 19 tackles-for-loss, 6.5 sacks, and six forced fumbles. He was taken by Dallas with the No. 12 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, after sitting out during COVID.
