Penn State Women’s Soccer No. 11 In First United Soccer Coaches Poll

Penn State women’s soccer landed at the No. 11 spot in the initial United Soccer Coaches preseason poll, the organization announced on Friday morning. Seven other Big Ten teams make the top 25.

The Nittany Lions come off yet another successful season in 2024, making the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament and finishing ranked No. 8 in the country. Unfortunately, a loss to No. 1 UNC ended their season.

Where the team struggled was in conference play. After years of finishing in the upper echelon of the conference, Penn State found the conference expansion difficult and finished the season No. 10 in the Big Ten.

2025 is a new season, though, and the Nittany Lions return much of their talent. Kaitlyn MacBean and Olivia Borgen lead an experienced attack that will look similar to last season’s. While young players such as Bella Ayscue and Aubrey Kulpa bring a full year of experience into their sophomore season.

As per usual, Penn State will start the season with a test, facing No. 4 Duke in the season opener on Thursday, August 14 at 7 p.m. in Durham, North Carolina.
