Penn State Football Wide Receivers Devonte Ross And Trebor Peña Named To Biletnikoff Award Watch List

Penn State football wide receivers Devonte Ross and Trebor Peña were named to the 2025 Biletnikoff Award watch list, an honor recognizing the most outstanding receiver in college football. The two receivers are new transfers and in their final year of eligibility.

Ross, a Troy transfer, earned first-team All-Sun Belt as a receiver and all-purpose player in 2024. While at Troy, he played in 39 games and made 13 starts. Last season, the former Trojan led the Sun Belt in receiving touchdowns with 11, second in the conference in receptions per game with 6.3, and third in receiving yards per game with 86.9.

The talented receiver went for 76 receptions, 1,043 yards, and 11 touchdowns in 2024. He is also an exceptional kick returner with 138 kick return yards and 153 punt return yards last season.

Although Ross has had some outstanding performances, nothing compares to the stat line he put up against a stout Iowa team in September of last season where he went for five catches, 142 yards, and a 77-yard punt return for a touchdown.

Peña, the new transfer from Syracuse adds another watch list nod heading into his sixth and final season as he has already been placed on the Paul Hornung Award watch list, an award given to the most versatile college football player.

Last season, Peña earned second-team All-ACC honors with Syracuse. He went for 84 receptions, 941 yards, and nine touchdowns while also doing damage on the ground with 12 carries, 72 yards, and a touchdown. The new Nittany Lion is an exceptional return specialist as well, tallying 15 punt returns for 120 yards in 2024.

Peña led the ACC with 84 receptions and placed third in the conference in receiving touchdowns last season.
