Penn State Wrestling To Host Oklahoma on November 14

The non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season has been kept tight to the vest for Penn State wrestling, as only an in-state visit to Drexel in December had been announced to this point. But, it was revealed on Friday that the reigning national champions would be visited by a Big 12 opponent in non-conference play, as Oklahoma will visit Happy Valley on Friday, November 14th.

Oklahoma is coming off an 8-4 dual season where they eventually placed seventh at the Big 12 Championships and 38th at the NCAA’s. It will take on Penn State for the first time since January 9, 2010, when the Sooners won 22-15. The last time Penn State won a dual meet against Oklahoma was January 18, 2004.

Penn State is one of three Big Ten opponents that Oklahoma will play, as it will host Indiana on November 23 and visit Rutgers in Piscataway on December 13. The Sooners will also be wrestling a back-to-back the week they come to State College, visiting Bucknell the day after facing the Nittany Lions.

The Oklahoma dual could be the home/season opener for Penn State, falling around the same time as the Nittany Lions’ 2024-25 season opener against Drexel, but it will not be known until the full schedule is released at some point prior to the beginning of the season.
