Make Kyron Hudson No. 1: An Open Letter To EA Sports

I think I speak for every Penn State football fan when I say it feels so good to finally have a wide receiver with the ability to make plays again. Kryon Hudson showed out in his Beaver Stadium debut, bringing in six receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown, including a highlight reel-worthy toe tap.

While it felt good to finally see the USC transfer in action, the Hudson performance was not a surprise to those who stayed in tune with the team in the offseason. Throughout spring and fall camp, Hudson garnered tremendous praise from the coaching staff and his teammates.

With his high performance, Hudson earned his way to the No. 1 jersey for the Nittany Lions. While the number is nowhere near as historical in Happy Valley as No. 11, wearing the No. 1 jersey anywhere in the country is an honor.

Despite this, EA Sports still has Hudson donning the No. 11 jersey number that he wore during his final season with the Trojans in 2024 in EA Sports College Football 26.

Now I am a logical Penn State fan; if I am not playing my dynasty with San Jose State, I am using the Nittany Lions in every other type of game. All I want to do is be able to throw bombs with Drew Allar to the new No. 1 on campus, and I can’t.

EA Sports, please help me and all other video game-loving Nittany Lions fans get the pleasure we deserve from finally having wide receivers. There has been too much suffering over the last few seasons not to get the most out of this opportunity while it’s here.
