Former Penn State Football Defensive Coordinator Brent Pry Fired As Virginia Tech Head Coach

Former Penn State football defensive coordinator Brent Pry has been fired from his position as the Virginia Tech head coach, according to ESPN. Virginia Tech announced the leadership change on X.

Pry was on the Penn State staff for eight years, including six as the defensive coordinator, before becoming the Hokies’ head coach in 2022.

After going 16-21 over his first three years, Pry began this season 0-3. Virginia Tech lost to Old Dominion in embarrassing fashion, 45-26, on Saturday, a day before it was reported Pry had been fired.

The Hokies will look for their first win next weekend when they face Wofford at noon on Saturday, September 20, at Lane Stadium. Penn State has a bye week before facing Oregon in the White Out on September 27.
