OS Reviews: Eden Valley Coffee Co.

State College’s next big coffee hit is here.
Located away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, Eden Valley Coffee Co. sits next to Maine Bay and Berry at 165 Elmwood St. The menu offers specialty lattes, coffee classics, refreshers, and small bites of food.
Our staffers couldn’t resist a cute, quaint caffeine fix and headed over to check out the coffee shop.
Ally Eaton: Salted Caramel Truffle Iced Latte With Oatmilk
This is easily one of the best coffees I have ever had. The atmosphere inside was adorable, the staff were nothing but kind, and the coffee was incredible. With notes of sea salt and decadent caramel, the addition of a chocolate drizzle lining the cup was enough to put this drink over the edge. I will most definitely be back to Eden Valley as soon as humanly possible.

Ericka Apolskis: Gingersnap Cappuccino
I have had many cappuccinos in my life, and nothing compares to this one. No notes, 10/10 must try.

Sylvia Prebor: Oatmeal Cookie Iced Latte, Salted Caramel Truffle Iced Latte, Cinnamon Roll
I am a slight coffee connoisseur, so I was going in with high expectations.
Pulling up, the outside looked so cute and it was busy, so I knew it was probably going to be good. They have a wide menu and all the drinks looked so good, I was having a hard time deciding. My boyfriend ended up getting a Salted Caramel Truffle iced latte, and I got an Oatmeal Cookie iced latte. I also tried ordering an almond croissant because they are my favorite, but they were out! I then resorted to a cinnamon roll because the girl at the cash register said they were the best.
The coffee came out super quickly, and they even brought it to us at the table. The food took longer than expected, but it was an error on our part. I told her I did not want the cinnamon roll heated up, so I sat there waiting and waiting and waiting for them to bring me a room-temperature one. Turns out, if you don’t get them heated up, they are prepackaged for you to grab on your own. Ten minutes sitting there waiting for it, my bad!
Back to the review… Both lattes were very good! I liked the Salted Carmel Truffle one more, but mine was also delicious. I ended up heating the cinnamon roll up when I got home, and it was delicious!
The atmosphere, the coffee, the food, everything was great, so I will definitely be going back, maybe to even sit there and study!

Ella Wehmeyer: Honey Bee
Eden Valley is the perfect cozy spot to get your daily coffee fix. I ordered the Honey Bee, which was perfectly sweet — not an easy balance for someone picky about coffee. The shop offers a variety of drinks and a selection of pastries. It’s a bit of a walk or drive depending on where you’re coming from, but definitely worth the trip.

Sophie Yadzinski: Salted Caramel Truffle Iced Latte
Eden Valley Coffee Co. is State College’s next big thing. The vibes were immaculate and the staff was so nice and enthusiastic. I asked them for a recommendation and they told me to try their Salted Caramel Truffle Latte and it was FIRE. Their signature latte menu has something for everyone with various unique flavors offered. I’m not normally a big coffee drinker but this place made me feel like I was walking on sunshine however, that might’ve just been the caffeine. Overall, 10/10 experience. Make your way over there, folks.

Maggie Alderisio: Iced Strawberry Matcha, Strawberry Nutella Sandwich
Eden Valley was the best coffee shop I’ve been to in State College in a while. It felt like you were far away in the middle of nowhere even though it is right off East College Avenue. The atmosphere and setting is so aesthetically pleasing and it was the perfect fall spot. I’m actually not even a coffee drinker but I’m a matcha fanatic so I ordered an iced strawberry matcha as well as a strawberry Nutella sandwich.
The matcha was delicious and the strawberry flavor was strong and not overpowering. It tasted just like a Blank Street matcha which I get when I’m home and have been craving since being at school. The strawberry Nutella sandwich was nothing out of the ordinary but it was a good snack if you’re looking for something small. Everything is served nicely and the prices were comparable to most other small coffee shops. I will absolutely be going back for another matcha and it might become a new study spot for me.

Alex Smith: Butter Croissant
I am not the biggest fan of coffee, so I got their butter croissant and it was delicious! I am a croissant connoisseur, so this was almost perfect. I loved the vibe inside of Eden Coffee Co., it was super warm and cozy. I will definitely be coming back here regularly!

Olivia Hess: Hot Tea With Honey
I woke up on Wednesday morning with the sore throat that seems to be taking over the Penn State population, so I decided to find a soothing beverage. I drove over to Eden Valley Coffee Co. to find the right fix! As much as I wished I could’ve tried one of their signature lattes (that sounded amazing), I ended up ordering a hot tea with honey to help me feel better.
My drink was ready pretty quickly, and every employee I interacted with was very pleasant. The tea itself was just what I needed, but the cozy vibes of the coffee shop will bring me back again, for sure! Eden Valley is a great spot for studying, and I can’t wait to try more from the drink and pastry menu. The service, ambience, prices, and great drinks should be enough for anyone to give it a try!
