Penn State Men’s Hockey Shifts Beaver Stadium Showcase To January 31

Penn State men’s hockey announced Monday, its highly anticipated Beaver Stadium outdoor hockey series will start a day earlier.

The series with Michigan State is moving from the originally scheduled Saturday-Sunday slate to a Friday-Saturday doubleheader beginning Friday, January 30, at Pegula Ice Arena. The Nittany Lions will hit the ice at Beaver Stadium on Saturday, January 31, instead of the previously announced dates.

The blue and white’s date with the Spartans will be the first time Penn State men’s hockey plays inside Beaver Stadium, after years of speculation about the possibility of a winter classic in the second-largest stadium in the country.

According to the program’s announcement, game times and TV information will be released at a later date.
