Penn State Women’s Soccer Drops Out Of The Rankings In Latest United Soccer Coaches Poll

After being ranked since the start of the season, Penn State women’s soccer is no longer ranked.

The Nittany Lions fell out of the rankings for the first time this season in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll on Tuesday. The team started ranked as the No. 11 team in the country and has since fallen out of that ranking.

After getting as high as No. 8 in the rankings, it has gone through a difficult stretch during the last two weeks, as it has only won one game in its last four. The Nittany Lions’ only win came against Northwestern last Sunday, while they have lost to Wisconsin and Illinois, along with a tie against Nebraska. They came up short of being ranked as they received 11 votes, eight short of No. 25 Vanderbilt.

Now, the Nittany Lions are 6-4-2 and 2-2-1 in Big Ten play as Erica Dambach’s squad looks to rebound from this difficult stretch when it hits the road to take on Rutgers on Saturday, October 4, at 4 p.m.
