Report: Former Penn State Cornerback Amani Oruwariye Signs With Balitmore Ravens

Former Penn State defensive back Amani Oruwariye has signed with the Baltimore Ravens, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

Oruwariye was recently a member of the Dallas Cowboys secondary. He started six games and had seven total appearances. He logged 29 total tackles, snagged an interception, and was credited with three passes defended.

The Detroit Lions drafted the Tampa, Fla. native in the 2019 NFL draft with the 146th overall selection in the fifth round.

Oruwariye stayed with the Lions until his rookie contract expired following his 2022 campaign. As a member of the Lions, he flashed in his 2021 season, intercepting six passes.

The former Penn Stater never found his footing within Dan Campbell’s regime in Detroit and was benched in Campbell’s first season at the helm.

Oruwariye has since bounced around the league, spending time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, and, most recently, the Dallas Cowboys.

The Ravens are without standout cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Nate Wiggins, giving Oruwariye a chance at having an instant effect in Baltimore’s secondary.
