What The World Looked Like The Last Time Penn State Football Was Unranked

Penn State football fell out of the AP Top 25 on Sunday after its 42-37 loss to UCLA this past Saturday.
This is the first time the Nittany Lions are unranked since week two of the 2022 season, although they eventually became ranked after week three. It’s only been about three years, but let’s see what has changed since then.
Sean Clifford Was Penn State Football’s Starting Quarterback
Sean Clifford came back to Penn State for his fifth year. Clifford started all 13 games of the 2022 season and finished 226-for-351 passing with 2,822 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week twice.
Nick Singelton, Kaytron Allen, & Drew Allar Were Freshmen
Amongst other important seniors on this year’s roster, current starting quarterback Drew Allar and running backs Nick Singelton and Kaytron Allen were all freshmen.
Nick Singleton appeared in all 13 games that season, leading the team with 1,061 yards rushing on 156 carries with 12 touchdowns. Kaytron Allen also appeared in all 13 games, starting three and running for 867 yards on 167 carries with 10 touchdowns and a long rush of 59 yards.
Drew Allar appeared in ten of the 13 games that season. He completed 35-of-60 passes for 344 yards and four touchdowns, running for 52 yards on 18 attempts with one rushing score.

Queen Elizabeth II’s reign lasted 70 years and 214 days, from February 6, 1952, until her death on September 8, 2022. This made her the longest-reigning monarch in British history and the second-longest-reigning monarch of any sovereign state.
Foo Fighters Held Tribute Concert For Drummer Taylor Hawkins
Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the band Foo Fighters, died March 25, 2022. The band eventually went on hold one of two tribute concerts in his name on September 3, 2022, at Webley Stadium. Multiple other artists came to perform at both concerts in support, including Travis Barker, Brian May, and Paul McCartney, amongst others.
Serena Williams Played Her Final Tennis Match At The US Open
The 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams played her final match at the US Open. She would end up losing 7-5, 6-7, 6-1 to Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia in a third-round match in New York. Ajla Tomljanovic would go on to lose to Ons Jabeur in the Women’s Singles Quarterfinals.
