Lady Lions To Play Select Games In Rec Hall During 2025-26 Season

Penn State women’s basketball announced Saturday that it will play games in Rec Hall on a “more permanent” basis in the 2025-26 season. Specific game designations are to be announced. The Lady Lions will still play games at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Lady Lions played a “Return to Rec Hall” game in their previous two seasons as a way to honor the program’s history in the building. The team played in Rec Hall from 1979 to 1996 before moving to the Bryce Jordan Center.

In its time at Rec Hall during the 20th century, Penn State women’s basketball conquered four undefeated home seasons. Rec Hall showcased Penn State’s first nationally televised basketball game in a sold-out Lady Lions “Pack the Track” matchup against Iowa in 1996.

Penn State’s overall record in Rec Hall currently sits at 203-36. The Lady Lions were 28-0 against Big Ten competition with Rec Hall as their permanent home, but recently dropped to 28-2, counting their “Return to Rec” games over the last two seasons.
