Penn State Women’s Hockey Stays At No. 6 In USCHO Poll

Penn State women’s hockey improved to 6-0-0 over the weekend, sweeping Division I newcomer Delaware in dominant fashion. Despite this, the Nittany Lions held serve at No. 6 in the latest USCHO poll.

It was a boring week in the rankings overall, as no new teams entered. The entire top 11 held serve. The most noteworthy tidbit might be that 0-4-0 Boston University managed to jump a spot in the rankings. Penn State closed the gap between it and No. 5 Cornell from 15 points to just six.

Penn State is one of two teams in the AHA to be ranked, with No. 15 Mercyhurst holding off Princeton for the final spot in the rankings by five points.

The women’s hockey team is back in action against No. 15 Mercyhurst at Pegula Ice Arena on Friday, October 17, at 3 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Big Ten Plus.
