Penn State’s Best Late Night Slices

Happy Valley is home to some great late-night eats, but nothing says late-night like a greasy slice of pizza. With a pizza shop on almost every block, it’s hard to choose the best one after a long night out.
It’s been three years since we last ranked Penn State’s late-night pizza shops, and a lot of fresh competition has arrived. With that being said, I think it’s time we update this list.
Doggies Pizza
A staple, truly. I mean, who doesn’t love $3 for two slices Thursday-Saturday after 1 a.m.? No matter how long the line is, the consistency and quality are always top-notch. Not 21? Don’t worry, there’s a store outside connected to the bar. Life-changing. And don’t even get me started on the $2 giant pickle.
Benny Leone’s Pizza
The newbie on the block. It just recently opened in June, but has been shelling out fantastic slices since. For just $6, you can get a 14-inch slice of pizza. Yeah, you read that right. Open until 3 a.m. on the weekends, this place is sure to satisfy your late-night cravings.
Allen Street Pizza
Macaroni and Cheese pizza? But it somehow works? I didn’t believe it either, but it’s delicious. Although their quality isn’t as strong as their competitors’, if you’re looking for a specialty pizza slice, this is the place to go.
Canyon Pizza
A classic. Nothing says a night out like dunking your pizza in communal ranch at 2 a.m. They also offer more than just pizza, with a selection of wings, calzones, and appetizers. Canyons’ perfect location, just two blocks from frat row, makes them, without a doubt, a solid pizza choice.
Monte Carlo Pizza & Wings
The underdog. Serving Sicilian slices and pasta, Monte’s offers a wide variety of Italian foods. Although not the most convenient downtown location, it definitely does the job.
