Three-Star Safety Darrell Carey Decommits From Penn State Football

Class of 2026 three-star safety Darrell Carey has decommitted from Penn State football, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Carey committed to the Nittany Lions in April.

The Hyattsville, Maryland, native is tabbed as the No. 17 player in the state, No. 49 safety in the class of 2026, and the No. 664 player in the nation, per the 247 Composite rankings. He is Penn State’s 13th decommit of the 2026 recruiting class.

Carey holds other Power Four offers from Boston College, Duke, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan State, Oregon, Pitt, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia. He took an official visit to Maryland in June.
