Boos & Brews: The Best Halloween Bar Events In State College

It’s almost Halloween in Happy Valley, and State College bars are going all out to celebrate. From fall-themed drinks to costume contests, there are plenty of places to find “boos” for this weekend.

For residents and students who are 21+, we found all of the best Halloween bar events and deals for your Halloweekend.

Champs Downtown

On Friday, October 31, Champs Downtown is hosting a series of Halloween events presented by Encore, including a special performance by Beau Cruz and a costume contest. Giveaway prizes include LineLeap credits ranging from $100 to $300 and Champs merchandise.

The Basement Nightspot

This Thursday, The Basement Nightspot will feature DJ Bennie along with $1 vodka drinks, $2 Big Basement Teas, and a full happy hour. Get tickets to see DJ Bennie here.

Cafe 210 West

Though Cafe 210 West isn’t holding any Halloween-themed events, the bar will feature live music all weekend and a lineup of fall drinks. Pumpkin spice fans can try the seasonal specials, including a pumpkin spice espresso, spiked pumpkin spice hot coffee, and a pumpkin pie shot.

Doggie’s Pub

Doggie’s Pub will host its second annual Monster Mash on Halloween Day. Dress in your best costume for a chance to win the bar’s costume contest or raffle, sponsored by Monster Energy.

Lion’s Den

Come to The Lion’s Den for their Annual “DEN-O-WEEN”. Costumes are encouraged, and LineSkips are available through LineLeap. The bar will also offer a $2 “U-Call-It” special on October 28 and October 30.

Stage West

Stage West is no stranger to Halloweekend, offering a full lineup of events this week. Thursday features a performance from social media personality Sommer Ray, Friday showcases the band Beach Crimes, and Saturday includes a performance by Kailyn. Tickets for each event are available through LineLeap.

Sharkies Bar & Bottle Shop

Sharkies Bar & Bottle Shop is inviting guests to get in the Halloween spirit and stop by in costume. The bar will be serving its seasonal cocktail, the “Jack-o’-Lantern,” as part of its Halloween specials.

The Shandygaff

The Shandygaff will host its Halloween Party, sponsored by Captain Morgan, on October 31. Guests can take part in giveaways, cash prizes, and a costume contest, making it a must-visit spot for Halloweekend. The bar will also offer all-night drink specials, including $5 24-ounce beer tallboys, $7 32-ounce liquor pitchers until midnight, and $3 Captain & Cokes.
