Things To Do In Columbus For Penn State Football’s Matchup Against Ohio State

Penn State football is headed to Columbus to play Ohio State in Week 10 of the 2025 college football season. If you’re taking the trip down to Ohio to back the Nittany Lions, we’ve got you covered.

From supporting one of two other Penn State teams competing in Columbus to stopping by one of the city’s many Halloween celebrations, here are some of the best things to do in Columbus over the weekend.

Sporting events

No. 4 Penn State men’s hockey vs. No. 17 Ohio State

If you’re a Penn Stater making the trip to Columbus, you’re in luck, because you can see the No. 4-ranked Nittany Lions take on the Buckeyes in Penn State hockey’s first Big Ten matchup of the season. The Nittany Lions beat the Buckeyes in game one of the series on Thursday night. The game will start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 31.

Penn State men’s soccer vs. Ohio State

Hockey’s not your thing? Don’t worry. Penn State men’s soccer is also up in Columbus for the weekend to take on the Buckeyes. The game will be held at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 31.

Crew vs. FC Cincinnati — MLS Cup Playoffs First Round

If college sports aren’t enough for you, Columbus’ MLS team is in playoff mode this weekend. The Crew will host FC Cincinnati in Game 2 of the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs First Round. Cincinnati leads the best-of-three series 1-0 heading into Sunday’s matchup, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 2 at Lower.com Field.

Friday Freak Show: Halloween on High Street — DraftKings Sports & Social

Looking for a Halloween party after the hockey game? DraftKings Sports & Social is turning into a circus for its annual ‘Friday Freak Show’. Expect a $1,000 costume contest, themed cocktails, and DJs until 2 a.m.

Pumpkin Aglow — Franklin Park Conservatory

Pumpkins Aglow is a can’t-miss fall tradition at Franklin Park Conservatory. The event features more than 700 hand-carved pumpkins, themed displays, and glowing trails perfect for taking photos. There are food trucks, drinks, and desserts from the Garden Cafe and Watershed Bar.
