Two Penn State Wrestlers Named To Big Ten 2025-26 Preseason Watch List

The Big Ten Conference announced preseason honors for 26 wrestling student-athletes on Friday.

Two Penn State wrestlers were included on the Big Ten Wrestlers to Watch list. Thirteen members of the list last year were named All-Americans.

Headlining the list is junior Mitchell Mesenbrink. He’s wrestling at 165 pounds this year and is one of four reigning NCAA Champions to make the list. Mesenbrink looks to have a big year for Penn State and is coming off a gold medal at the U23 World Wrestling Championships.

Also on the list is senior Levi Haines. He’s wrestling at 174 pounds this year, and he is projected as the favorite to win his weight class. Haines will look to cap off his Penn State career this year as an NCAA champion.

Penn State looks to win its fourth consecutive Big Ten wrestling championship this year, and it will host the Big Ten Wrestling Championships in March. Penn State Wrestling will open its season on November 14 against Oklahoma at the Bryce Jordan Center.
