Penn State Men’s Hockey Forward Aiden Fink Out For ‘Foreseeable Future’ With Upper-Body Injury

Penn State men’s hockey junior forward Aiden Fink will be out for an extended period of time with an upper-body injury, head coach Guy Gadowsky said Monday.

Fink, an All-American and Hobey Baker Award Finalist in 2024-25, hurt his wrist in the second period during Thursday night’s win over Ohio State and exited the game. A line of Gavin McKenna, Luke Misa, and Ben Schoen was formed in his absence, one that led to the game-winning goal.

The junior has been one of the best forwards in college hockey during his time as a Nittany Lion. He has 40 goals and 93 points in 83 games at Penn State, breaking numerous records. In the first nine games of the 2025-26 season, he had two goals and seven assists.

The Nittany Lions’ depth has already taken multiple hits, with the loss of Andrew Kuzma and Keaton Peters before the season due to overseas rehab and injury. In Friday’s game against Ohio State, Gadowsky elected to put Reese Laubach at right wing alongside McKenna and Schoen in the middle, and it’ll remain to be seen what the long-term solution will be. Braedon Ford also entered the lineup after spending most of the season as a healthy scratch.

The Nittany Lions are back in action in East Lansing against No. 1 Michigan State at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 7. The game will be broadcast on Big Ten Plus.
