Penn State Women’s Volleyball’s Kennedy Martin Tabbed AVCA National Player Of The Year Semifinalist

Penn State women’s volleyball’s Kennedy Martin has been named one of the 14 finalists for the AVCA Division I Women’s Volleyball National Player of the Year award. It’s the second consecutive year that Martin has been included on the AVCA’s list of semifinalists.

Martin is averging 5.24 kills per set and 6.05 points per set this season after transferring into Happy Valley from Florida, placing her third in the nation and first in the Big Ten. With a .309 hitting percentage, Martin has recorded 35 service aces, ranking fourth in the conference in aces.

The junior has received three Big Ten Player of the Week awards this season and was named AVCA National Player of the Week following matches against No. 7 Wisconsin and Northwestern, averaging 7.36 points, 6.71 kills, 2.14 digs, and 0.71 blocks per set.

Penn State is back on the court against Purdue on the road at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 7. The game will be broadcast on Big Ten Plus.
