Penn State Wrestling Clinches 2026 National Championship Team Title

Penn State wrestling’s dominance continues, now with another title to its name.

Cael Sanderson and his team clinched the national championship title for the fifth consecutive year on Saturday morning in Session V of the NCAA Championships. This is the Nittany Lions’ 13th national championship title in 15 seasons.

Penn State had six wrestlers advance to the finals and two compete for third place. Eight Penn State wrestlers earned All-American honors.

The Nittany Lions secured the title after Marcus Blaze defeated Tyler Knox of Stanford to move onto the third-place bout. With 158 points, Penn State leaves second-place Oklahoma State trailing with 117 points.

Penn State will hope to break its overall team score record of 177 points, which it set at last year’s NCAA Championships.

Fans can stream the final matches on ESPNU and ESPN+ as the Nittany Lions continue to keep the dynasty alive.
