Jonathan Evans Selected As Big Ten Goalkeeper Of The Week

Penn State men’s soccer goalkeeper Jonathan Evans has been named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. This is the Nittany Lion’s second honor, following his Big Ten Freshman of the Week distinction in October.

The Nittany Lions played their final game on Friday in a 0-0 tie against Michigan. Evans had 3 saves and recorded his fourth clean sheet to cap off the season.

Evans had 49 saves on the season, marking the most for a Penn State goalkeeper since Kris Shakes had 64 in 2023.

The Nittany Lion boasts a save percentage of 73.1% and leads the conference in saves per game with 3.5 in 14 games played. Additionally, 39 of his saves came against Big Ten opponents.
