[Photo Story] State College & Penn State’s Beauty At Night

As the sun begins to set earlier and earlier, the night sky falls sooner in State College, displaying its sheer beauty at night. Festive lights line the streets downtown, allowing for cinematic views of the town. On campus, the beautifully lit buildings and scenery that engulf the campus are contrasted by the dark, fall night sky.

Over the past few weeks, our photographers have made it their mission to capture the cinematic and picturesque feeling of State College and Penn State, leading up to Thanksgiving Break and the holidays.

Compiled below are the best pictures from our photographers to encompass these feelings.

The beautiful holiday lights cast their glow on the streets and sidewalks of downtown State College, exhibiting the picturesque atmosphere of the town.

Old Main shines bright, surrounded by what’s left of the fall foliage, its lights illuminating the historic bell tower and the accompanying flag poles under the night sky.

Nights on campus remain the same for students despite the drastic change in scenery, as they continue their once daily, now nightly, routines.

Finally, the famous Nittany Lion Shrine shines bright under the spotlight and the dusk sky. Surrounded by the colorful and beautiful fall foliage, the shrine stands out in the limelight.

As the sun begins to set sooner and sooner and the holiday season grows closer and closer, we continue to look forward to capturing the beauty and vivid scenery of State College and the University Park campus.
