Penn State Men’s Hockey To Participate In 2026 Ice Breaker Tournament

Penn State men’s hockey is set to compete in the 2026 Ice Breaker Tournament on October 9 and 10. The Nittany Lions will be joined by UConn, Sacred Heart, and Bowling Green at the tournament.

The event is co-hosted by UConn and Sacred Heart and set to be held at the Toscano Family Ice Forum and Martire Family Arena. Both arenas opened in 2023.

The Nittany Lions will open the 2026 season on October 9 against UConn and close the tournament against Sacred Heart. This is the first time Penn State will compete in the tournament, which dates back to 1997.

Penn State is 2-2-1 against the Huskies with the most recent meeting in the Allentown Regional, which Penn State won to advance to the Frozen Four. The Nittany Lions are 6-0-0 against Sacred Heart, the last meeting being October 12, 2019.
