Three-Star Linebacker Mathieu Lamah Flips From Penn State Football To Virginia Tech

Penn state football class of 2026 three-star linebacker commit Mathieu Lamah has flipped his commitment to Virginia Tech, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He originally committed to the Nittany Lions in May and reopened his recruitment following James Franklin’s firing.

The 6’3″, 220-pound linebacker is tabbed as the No. 13 player in Virginia, No. 39 linebacker in the class of 2026, and No. 496 player in the nation, per the 247 Composite rankings. He joins four-star quarterback Troy Huhn as former Penn State recruits to flip to Virginia Tech today and sixth to make the move overall.

Lamah took an official visit at Virginia Tech in June and another in November. With Franklin now coaching in Blacksburg and a swarm of 2026 guys on their way, the move was inevitable.
