Former Penn State Football Quarterback Commit Troy Huhn Commits To Virginia Tech

Former Penn State football quarterback commit Troy Huhn has found a new home, committing to Virginia Tech, he announced on CBS Sports on Monday. He rejoins former Penn State head coach James Franklin in Blacksburg.

Huhn, ranked No. 309 in the Class of 2026 by 247Sports composite rankings, committed to the Nittany Lions all the way back in June 2024 and remained committed until October 16, four days after Franklin’s firing. He was the lone quarterback in Penn State’s recruiting class at the time.

Ranked as the No. 21 quarterback and No. 37 player in the state of California, Huhn was one of 20 quarterbacks to be named to the 2025 Elite 11 Finals back in June. Virginia Tech extended him an offer on November 17, the day Franklin was hired, and Huhn quickly flipped to the coach he initially committed to in State College.
