Two Penn State Football Offensive Players Named To All-Big Ten First Team

After three Nittany Lions were named to the All-Big Ten Third Team on Wednesday, when the Big Ten revealed the defense and special teams accolades, two players joined them when the offensive side of the ball was revealed.

On Thursday, running back Kaytron Allen and guard Vega Ioane were named to the All-Big Ten First Team. Allen was a unanimous selection on the first team alongside Nebraska’s Emmitt Johnson, becoming the first Penn State running back on the team since Saquon Barkley in 2017.

Allen, a senior from Norfolk, Virginia, finished his senior season with a statement, becoming the all-time rushing yards leader in Penn State history, doing so without the benefit of a bowl game or College Football Playoff. In 12 games, Allen had 210 carries for 1,303 yards and 15 touchdowns, boosting his already elite production through three years to a blistering 6.2 yards per carry.

He capped his season with a remarkable 226-yard performance against Rutgers, and had a total of 567 rushing yards in the team’s season-ending three-game winning streak. His 226 yards against the Scarlet Knights are the most in a single game by a Penn State running back since Larry Johnson in 2002.

Ioane, a redshirt junior from Graham, Washington, was a consensus All-Big Ten Second Team player in 2024 and has been a bedrock for Penn State’s offensive line in the past three seasons. Ioane was selected to the first team by the media and the second team by the coaches. He’s the first Penn State guard to be named to the All-Big Ten First Team since John Urschel in 2013.

Five additional players were named as honorable mentions, joining the eight on defense and special teams: running back Nick Singleton, tight end Khalil Dinkins, and offensive linemen Nick Dawkins, Drew Shelton, and Nolan Rucci.
